How does it actually work?
Create a session, share the link. That's it.
Everyone opens the link (no app needed), adds their name, and taps the items they ordered. The math happens automatically. When you're done, you see exactly who owes who and how much.
Real-time updates mean everyone sees changes instantly as people claim items.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Yes, completely free. No premium tiers, no credit card, no "free trial."
The catch? There isn't one. We built this because we were tired of existing bill splitters being either too complicated or requiring everyone to download an app. Sometimes the right tool just needs to exist.
Your session automatically deletes after 30 days. We don't store your data forever because we don't need to.
Do people need to create an account?
Nope. No accounts, no passwords, no email verification.
Just open the link and add your name. That's the whole onboarding process. We designed this for those moments when you're at a restaurant with friends and need to split the bill right now, not after everyone downloads an app and creates accounts.
The link is the session. Bookmark it if you want to check it later, or don't. Up to you.
What if someone doesn't pick their items?
Then you assign it for them. It takes one tap.
The whole point is that people can pick their own items, which eliminates the "wait, did you get the fries?" conversation. But if someone's not paying attention or already left, you can still assign items to them the old-fashioned way.
Pro tip: Share the link in your group chat before the bill arrives. By the time you're ready to pay, everyone's already claimed their stuff.
Is my data private?
Your session is only accessible via the unique link. No one can find it without that URL.
We don't require email, phone numbers, or any personal info. Names are whatever you type in. Sessions automatically delete after 30 days. We're not building a database of who you eat dinner with.
Think of it like a Google Doc link - anyone with the link can access it, but it's not publicly listed anywhere.
Can I use this for things other than restaurants?
Absolutely. Grocery runs, concert tickets, vacation expenses, group gifts - if it involves splitting costs, it works.
Add multiple receipts to one session. Share trips across days. Track who paid for what and settle up at the end. The tool doesn't care what you're splitting, just that you need to split it.
Some people use it for roommate expenses, some for road trips, some for team lunches. Do your thing.
Does the receipt scanning actually work?
Yeah, surprisingly well. Take a photo of the receipt and AI extracts the items and prices.
It's not perfect - sometimes prices are wonky or items are misread - but you can edit everything manually if needed. Still faster than typing out 20 line items yourself.
Or just skip it and add items manually. Both options exist because sometimes the simple way is the right way.
What about tips and tax?
Tips and tax are split proportionally based on what each person ordered.
If you spent 30% of the pre-tax total, you pay 30% of the tax and tip. The math just works. No need to manually calculate percentages or argue about whether the person who ordered water should pay the same tip as the person who got three cocktails.
You can also adjust tip and tax amounts or split them evenly if your group prefers that. We don't judge.
